Every Day is a New Journey
Life is a journey, every day. Every day we are seeking and searching on our path to full fill our heart, in-quizitive minds and to try to fill our souls. Our journey is about the tears, fears, defeat, triumphs, victory and joy.
What is your soul seeking? What brings you joy and helps get past the fears? Healing, growth, love, commitment, new beginnings, career, relationship???? What is missing? Today my soul was energized just by seeing the Bald Eagle sitting on the log, waiting to fill his hunger with the fish.
We can even be lost on the journey and even forget what we are really seeking, get side tracked....sometimes we are wandering searching for answers. Those answers are many times right in front of us, but we are too cluttered to recognize it.
Recently, I watched the movie, "Wild". About a lady who was on a spiritual journey on the Pacific Crest Trail, pushing herself what she thought was , beyond her limits. This push actually helped her find herself, delivering healing through the empowerment to over come.
Her story has inspired many others to venture on the PCT and they come through our neck of the woods in the Columbia River Gorge. Some cross through as they stay on course, but you are welcome to check our our community and stay while.
How do you work on your journey? In the Gorge you can find it through pushing yourself with physical activities, being one with ( or against ) nature. Is it just an adventure or a challenge? Which ever it may be we can find it here in hiking, climbing, hunting, snow shoeing, cross country ski, kayaking, wind surfing, horse back, mountain bike, motorcycle and more! We have the elements of man vs nature in the Gorge. But please do not forsake the beauty as to be easy or calm r easy.
Hmm, human nature we do not like to fail or accept defeat. Nature can win, if we are not prepared. Research your adventure.
"Never Hike alone", its not just a phrase on a T-shirt! Please take at the least your 4 legged friend, better yet, a compatible partner on the journey. Still, being prepared for the both of you the elements of nature, weather, wild life, difficult terrain, and possible accidents. ( they are called accident for a reason, we don't plan on getting injured). This summer a large group of hikers who set out for a short day hike and swim in a creek had a rude awakening when they had to shelter in place on a trail due to forest fire. Adventures are to be shared, best to take a friend. But, if you can't, let someone know where you are heading because cell phones don't work well in many places out here. If you are our of range, as it searches, the battery drains faster so bring a back up battery supply. Be sure to add a few other essentials in your pack.
Whether you are searching for your soul; healing or completion, every day is a journey. Make the best of it and enjoy your search. There is so much beauty to take in, ever changing so pack for the changes, fill your heart with the Gorge and all it has to offer stay safe on your visit so you can go home with success on your journey.
