Rhythm of Life

You can feel it, you can see it, you can smell it! Fall is in the air. A new season approaches, but it is not the end, it is another beginning. There are seasons in our calendar year of nature and seasons in our life. With seasonal change comes new beginnings.

"To everything, there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."

Ecclesiastes 3:1

we think of Fall as the "end of summer", the end of growing season before things become dormant. But in nature and in our own lives while on the outside the naked eye, it might seem dormant, there is still life. There is growth, sometimes we can't see it. Whether its deep in our own hearts or down in the soil, life is still taking place. “It’s a new season. A perfect opportunity to do something new, something bold, something beautiful!” - unknown

The calendar year might say its Fall and we see the visual changes; first a few yellows and orange in the leaves, the cedars have a reddish brown in the needles from the summer stress. Gentle rains come more often but it washes the leaves and the trees. The greens shine and the slight fall colors contrast and give almost a glow of brilliance. The air is cooler, even on the sunny last warm days. When clouds roll in against the blue sky the sun gives the silver lining to glow against the black rain clouds.

We prepare for the next season with harvest the garden, clean up the dead headed flowers and cut back the plants as they wither back to the soil. We do the same in life as we change seasons, no matter what season you are in with your life, we prepare for the next seasonal change to come. Some days need to be cloudy and rainy for a reason, not just in nature.

Soak up the clouds and rain to cleanse the soul, so when the sun shines again you can embrace the circle of growth and new season of life. Life is a series of seasons that come and go; we must embrace each one wholeheartedly.
