Find Yourself in the Gorge!

Life has its many challenges we all face, financial, health, our vehicle breaks down, your roof leaks in the middle of winter. The hardest challenges are with people and communications.

Communication is a balance and it’s delicate. Wars have broken out, not only in families but between countries over communication differences and beliefs.

Is the color in the picture blue or green; perception. Do you prefer bacon or sausage? Maybe neither and you are vegetarian; personal taste and opinion.

Is today a good day? It does depend on how you feel; your attitude and you outlook on the situation. But the choice is still yours. We can let the static of life obstruct our perception.

How do you declutter the static and viruses that come into your life and world?

The art of communication comes down to the ability to filter out your perception, preference and the static that is distracting your life while you take in something being sent to you. Sometimes we need to find an outlet, walk away, and “re-set” your internal computer.

“Communication is a two -way street”. We need to be able to send, receive openly with both sides listening with an open mind and heart. This is a difficult task to achieve, two people setting aside personal feelings of outside static, personal beliefs and preferences and enjoy active positive communication. There is still the human factor in there and we all have feelings. Communication is the major link that can build or break down relationships.

Is modern technology improving effective communication and hindering it? This is a delicate area where your words and intent can be dissecting, filters, twisted and turned completely around and thrown back in your face. There are too many rules, be careful of capitalizing, punctuation, certain words or how you start a sentence. Don’t add your personal touch or style, because it can be totally turned around and destroyed.

Communication is personal, you can be offended or offend someone else and not even realize it. Depending on your culture we assume universal language, a smile to be a pleasant greeting, the middle finger used as a rude gesture. But are they really universal? Some cultures are not to make eye contact or their faces are hidden behind clothing.

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place”, George Bernard Shaw

So, as I mentioned earlier, sometimes we have to re-set our mind set to handle the forces in life with strength and compassion to achieve a positive heart.

There is no better place than to let yourself go in nature. Take a walk in the woods, sit on a river bank and breathe in the fresh air while enjoying the sunset. Get lost in the clouds, observing nature and wildlife. Get yourself back to a space to free your mind of the daily clutter, the negative forces so you can meet the challenges with positive energy. I love the Gorge! You can find yourself anywhere to bring back in your soul the “re-set” button.

If you find yourself in a negative situation and the communication coming at you is destroying your energy, don’t engage. We can choose to use the force constructively with words of encouragement or destroy with words of despair Life is 10% of what happens to yu and 90% of how you choose to handle it and react. Step out of the picture and recharge with a walk in the rain, a place to meditate and self -reflect, keep your heart alive and positive.
