Zeal v.s Fear
So much controversy in the world. Seems like every subject is open to debate, argue, and take such extreme measures. What happened to compromise, balance, moderation?
A few comments from friends has made me think; " Life is not what it used to be, we can't go back."
And we should not go backwards, always in a forward motion. We are not always going in the right forward motion and it seems to take a little time to figure out where we really are headed. We have been heading downward for too long. It is time to move up and forward again in a positive direction.
Another friend who is a teacher commented, " I am afraid, afraid to go to work, our schools are not safe".
Fear should not be our driving factor to making decisions. Fear should not prevent us from living.
Fear should not determine our direction.
Life needs to go with passion, blessing, respect, honor and be energized by positive forces, be thankful.
Life has changed its course, when did we decide it is o.k . to encourage and accept children that it is o.k. to walk out of school and protest? Is fear driving them? What happened to respect of others and life, following directions, right and wrong? While I do not believe truly fear is guiding them, neither is accountability, respect or honor. Sorry, but they are children. They are not being taught right from wrong, they are learning to find blame and fault in others actions and anything that does not go in their direction. If they are being taught to take responsibility for their own actions, they would do their job.......go to school, be kind, be helpful, be respectful.
Maybe we should go backwards? We need to go back to learning and teaching how to start it day by being thankful. Let thankfulness be our energy. Our day should start with ZEAL and enthusiasm. Positive energy is contagious. It starts with a simple smile. Have you tried the "greeting experiment"? Smiling and saying hello to everyone you pass on the street, in the store, on the sidewalk. Enthusiasm is infectious to those around us.
Your zeal for life increases as you use it to touch the lives of others. Maybe, if society worked together, quit protesting of who is to blame for their sorry life, we would really have a chance to fix things and make the world a better place?
It is worth a try, if everyone stopped for one day, let go, find the good, be thankful, be positive and be kind. I am ready, who is coming down this road to get it started? It all starts with a simple act of kindness, a smile, positive gesture and then keep doing it every day.
