Time Marchs on with Confidence and Courage
Birthdays tend to be a time of reflection. The more we accumulate the more we look back. Not just at memories and accomplishments, we should also with gratitude for all we have been given. Its a time to move forward with new beginnings, endevours and goals.

They also say, time heals the heart and wounds, I think it only has its way for us to accept what we can not change. But God works in his ways we should not doubt or question because the heart does heal with the strength and love from others. My sweet Juliet may be miles away but strong in my heart, the smiles and laughter watching her grow and take in the world lightens my heart.
This year as I march closer to the finish line of life and time has crept up on me, I also need to challenge myself. Challenge my mind, body and move in a forward path with confidence and courage. Starting out a new year for myself, setting goals. This year to tackle many mountains, trails and check out new and revisit already accomplished places.
What better way to tackle the new year than the Dog Mt, the legend of steep terrain, spectacular views and a trail that has taken the better strength of many. The trail that some do not complete the destination ( either making it to the top or making it back down without injury). If you have ever had to catch your breath on or uphill stretch of a trail, if your legs have felt sore or your knees weak and wobbly on the descent; then you know that hiking is a work out. This work out improves cardiovascular performance, more endurance, stronger muscles and a better mood ( well after you accomplish and find yourself with a cold beer or relaxing glass of wine to reflect the accomplishment). While many people enjoy hiking ( I being one of them), there is no denying how beautiful a walk in the woods can be for your soul.
For those who take in hiking, its not just about the improvement of the physical strength and work out, its not only reaching a goal over the different terrains of your favorite trail, but its much more. Take on a mountain, be one with nature, the physical high of the endorphins, getting the heart beating and working, and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
So this year is about moving forward with confidence, using my knowledge, challenging myself and coming closer to nature as I understand the things I can not change and have learned to accept and keep my heart strong physically and in spirit.
Time to conquer mountains!
