Senses, Seasons and Memories
Christmas time is here, happiness and cheer.
It has come again. People rushing around the malls, stores, post office and airports.

The days keep getting shorter, when the outdoor lights went up a couple weeks ago and the timer was set, the lights came on with sunset.....the timer needed adjusting as the daylight time decreases. Winter solstice is around the corner and we will swing back the other direction soon. Temperatures dropping, winds, rain and snow falling.
With all the changes, darkness and cold comes a warmth in the season. Come home at night in the dark to come around a corner and see houses sparkling with lights and cheer. The soul warms up to enjoy a moment of the colored lights and decor others display.
Nature makes its own twinkle with small prisms that take on the feeling of sparkling lights in the frost and rain droplets on the bare trees. Flocking in the firs of the soft snow flakes that leave a gentle silence and feeling of peace.
The snow brings its work and dangers. Shoveling paths, slippery roads and stresses of travel or having to work in the icy conditions. But, snow brings beauty and peace. For the moments it falls to the ground and blankets the bare of winter, it also whispers to us a gentle reminder of its beauty and grace.
So in the hussle, the ice and crowds I hope you find time to appreciate the beauty the changes and the moment. The sounds, sights and smells of Christmas and what it brings to your memories. For me, smells of baking, sounds of Peanuts Christmas music, hot cocoa and peppermint sticks, the crackle of a warm fire and mulling spices.
What smells and sounds make your heart sing with memories and traditions of your past? I hope you find harmony in your life with spirit and joy and the kindness and compassion that spreads joy all around. You have the ability to make it what you want.
