Spring: Rejuvenate and Restore
" Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say......it's alright. Little darling its been a long cold lonely winter"
The Beatles

She made it! Spring has sprung and she is pushing old man stubborn winter out! The snow is melting, bulbs are pushing their way towards the sky, even under the snow. Spring is winning the battle and time for old man winter to rest.
It is amazing when you leave the middle section of the Gorge, go East or go West and you enter a different world. I suppose travelers think that when they enter the Gorge and find....there is still snow those hills and trails.
One does not have to travel far to find evidence of Spring pushing on. Trekking up Coyote wall a couple days ago there were many signs of promise of spring. I suppose they call it coyote wall for all the evidence left behind that there are coyotes present. From poop to paw prints in the mud, coyotes are frequent to the area. A patch or two of snow left behind on the trail, should be almost gone by now. A few wild flowers pushing up with a bloom of thank you to the sunshine.
Spring is melting away that snow quickly in areas, Beacon Rock is crystal clear of ice! The wind may have a factor in helping that, as the Gorge winds have been whipping to blow out Winter.

It is March and the rains will eventually be present. Be mindful of elevations and adventures, places like Wind Mountain, the trail is mostly shady and still slick ice or deep snow drifts. As long as there is snow on Defiance through the sun and wind, its a promise the snow remains hidden in the shadows on the trails below.
Just remember, " The sunshines not on us, but in us. The rivers flow not past, but through us. Thrilling, tingling and vibrating every cell of the substance of our bodies and makes them sing. The trees wave and the flowers bloom in our bodies as well as our souls and every bird song, wind song and tremendous storm, song of the rocks in the heart of the mountains is our song. Our very own and sing our love" John Muir
If you don't like the weather, don't worry it will change. The Gorge is ever changing and ever growing through each season. Continue to imagine new and positive possibilities in life. Prepare for weather changes so you can enjoy the adventure, find your balance and find your spirit. Mine is with Spring and it comes alive!
