Finding Your True North

A journey much further North and off of Bear Creek......Alaska!

Human nature has curiosity, desire, adventure and being one in nature gives a sense of awe with the magnificence that empowers our soul.

There are so many avenues we can experience the world, how we absorb the beauty and take it in. Then we have a need to hold on to the moment. Of course, the memory can not really be taken from us, but to see it, feel it and even accomplish it. Some need the thrill, excitement, the peace and simple as a bucket list of desires while here on Earth.

This past couple weeks travels too me far from Bear Creek into a territory that inspires and rejuvinates the soul. Alaska, larger by far than Texas ( and Alaskans love to share that fact). But its so much more; the beauty, rugged mountains that are untouched by humans, places with no roads and a greatness beyond words.

People try to capture it in art, photos, books, and hold on to it if you have explored parts. The intrigue by nature shows and media has drawn people from all over the world in different directions and cultures a desire to just feel a piece of its magnificence.

How do you fill your heart with the moments you are there? The vast unsureal reminds you how small we are in the whole grand picture. Never ending mountain ranges of beauty and strength, glaciers sounding like thunder as minute pieces break away and fall into the icy sea.

Then the wildlife! Moose should be the state animal with its abundance. Nature is a teacher and animals are a part of that you can take away with. Watching nature in its true element has such a deep power and connection to our souls. You can feel the grace and gentleness while sitting on a boat and getting close to an enormous whale. The sense of courage and pride to quietly view a bald eagle flying around and swooping to pick up a fish out of the water. Fear as well when encountering a 1200 pound moose or seeing a grizzly bear in the woods while hiking. Knowing you are not alone.

Nature teaches us about life, death, survival, sacrifice and responsibility.

We are all drawn to different elements of nature. Think of the traits and which part intrigues you and learn by observing, taking in and appreciating all mother nature offers. We are a part of nature so its "natural" to be drawn by what animals, mountains, rivers, glaciers and more have to offer us and discover what is true within you.

Opening up and really letting your soul experience and absorb natures lessons helps to heal, deep our gratitude and be thankful for being alive and living the life we have.

"Those who find beauty in all of nature will find themselves at one with the secrets of life itself." quote by L. Wolfe Gilbert
