Relaxation in the Garden

We are raised with the idea led to believe relaxation is best pursued outside of work and the home. I agree with outside of work, then again much of my work is at home. Get away for vacation, ads on social media, commercials on TV of dream places to get away and where relaxation begins.

Why can't we find our happy place at home? Really we should find it at home first, vacations are grand but an adventure. When it comes to relaxing how do you find it?

Relaxation; the state of being free from stress and anxiety.

So how do you relieve stress and relax? While sometimes a massage is wonderful and needed, but relaxing can be found within the garden.

Gardening is wonderful therapy and this time of the year, harvest is bountiful which is work but to enjoy the fruits of hard work is relaxing.

Gardening does have its physical chore, preparing soil, weeding, digging, planting and caring for while it grows, then tending to the up-keep. But there is more than work, peacefulness of my own home space in nature. Whether its the stillness or the sound of the wind. The birds might be chirping or bees buzzing and butterflies fluttering...Harvest does not have to be vegetables, flowers work too! To cut fresh flowers and enjoy in your house.

Seasons change quickly and to not enjoy what nature helps us to produce can be missed opportunity. While it is time consuming, and many years a garden was depressing. The hard work invested to only find time to see the garden over come with weeds and vegetables too late in the picking beyond their prime.....This year, its relaxing and a feeling of celebration to enjoy the bountiful harvest.

Still, even if you are not a green thumb, dig in the dirt gardener and enjoy the harvest, huckleberries are prime picking now. So, maybe make your relaxation a mini venture away from home up in the woods to enjoy nature's garden. Don't be alarmed if you run into a bear, they are enjoying the harvest too. Be sure to download your free permit if you go pick.

Get away up in the woods or stay home, you can still nurture your soul. I enjoy nurturing my soul in my own home space at times. Regain peace of mind, its not hard just allow yourself permission to achieve.

There is no place like home, for some, no place like Bear Creek.
