Reset Button

Routines are important. Routines help us function in the day to day world. They are important for not only children and learning, or the elderly and memory issues, but for everyone.

As much as routines are important, so is the idea of stepping out or the routine and pushing our reset button.

Recharge, re-inspire, re-motivate, reset! So how do you push the reset button? " The sun is shining, the mountains are calling. So, I answered". Robin Aman

Find a way to let go, release creative energy, re-find your peace and inner spirit. When the sun is shining and the air is warm, many find it easier to get out and enjoy for a reset. I admit, the sunshine sparks energy in the soul. But, many of us live in areas that actually have seasons and not continuous unlimited warm sunshine! That is ok, just get outside and find your motivation.

Hike, bike, run, walk, hunt, camp, snow shoe, sled and get outside to reset. There are many creative ways to stay warm by the fire and dry indoors; paint, sew, craft, cook and more. Even on cloudy cold day, outside offers vitamin D, fresh air and opening the senses to nature.

Sometimes we go through whole days without really tuning in to the beauty of nature that surrounds us. We have a habit of seeing it without really taking it in, yet once we begin to notice it we treat ourselves to an exquisite realm of subtle, complex scents, miraculous forms, and ethereal light. The natural world enriches our entire being through the vehicles of our senses. When we are low, nature lifts our spirits. When we are tired, it rejuvenates us--if we pause long enough to drink from its beauty. If you have fallen out of the practice of taking time to observe the light as it filters through the leaves of a tree, or the concentric rings a raindrop makes as it plops into a puddle, you can re-tune yourself by dedicating a day to noticing the beauty in nature. Then make it a daily habit.

Re-set those inner buttons and rid your soul of the spam, take it in and let it transform your mind. Even incorporate your daily routines around a little re-set time each day. Sit with your morning coffee and watch the sun rise, even on a cloudy day, or rain, or snow. Take in how your view changed in 24 hours. Drink in what is all around your daily routine and you can re-charge and reset daily to find the energy and light within.

" We are enlivened by what the season brings us, something magical and unexpected. The tall peaks brighten suddenly against an azure blue sky as the early morning rises; a sky that moves quickly to a soft alpen glow as the dusk arrives. The season is full of curiosity; a season that opens the imagination to create what is hopefully exciting. The creative spirit gets ignited." Robert Redford

Ignite and enjoy the unexpected, whether its sunshine and blue skies or misty fog creeping through the tree tops. Breathe it, listen to it, absorb the temperatures, smells, and sounds and let it in your soul to reset.
