Changing the Attitude

Some days finding the inspiration and motivation can be more challenging. Not, that it is not out there, but kicking yourself in the tail and wanting to see it. Let's face it, life is a little challenging. Hmm, let's rethink that statement. Life always has challenges, do you let the challenges take over your attitude? Life can change your direction. Life can make you change your routines and plans. But, life, it what its all about! Ok, I admit it, I have some of those days as well. Who doesn't? We have all faced moments in our lives when the pressure mounts beyond what we feel we can handle, and we find ourselves thinking that we do not have the strength to carry on. Sometimes we have just gotten through a major obstacle or illness only to find another one waiting for us the moment we finally catch our breath. Sometimes we endure one loss after another, wondering when we will get a break from life's travails. It does not seem fair or right that life should demand more of us when we feel we have given all we can, but sometimes this is the way life works.

"Flowers grow out of the darkest moments" Corita Kent.
Life is forever changing, challenging but it is also inspiring, beautiful and there is so much out there waiting. I am waiting too, for my next real hiking adventure. Really missing seeing new places, even seeing old favorite places. These days, with stay at home orders, the old familiar places are well explored. The yard is filled with new life, inspiration and beauty. As the daffodils say good bye until next year, something new takes a turn to shine. Our lives and challenges are just like nature. Winter can be harsh, some years lots of snow or ice and waiting for Spring and wonder how life deep under ground can push through and resurface. When we look back on our lives, we see that we have survived many trials and surmounted many obstacles, often to our own amazement. In each of those instances, we had to break through our ideas about how much we can handle and go deeper into our hidden reserves.

Don't let life keep you down. Some days we need a down day, to hibernate, rest up and regain our strength to push our way up through the hard ground and shine with beauty. If a tiny delicate wild flower can find the strength and over come, so can we.

and even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined" Eric Hanson
