Dream, Vision, Message?

Why can sometimes dreams stand out so strong? The impact it has on us to awake and recall what our mind was thinking while we sleep. Does it have a special meaning? Is there a hidden message being sent to us when you see wildlife, or just a wonderful moment? Seeing a Bald Eagle perched in tree or swoop across your sight as you are out and about does leave a sense of awe and majestic feeling. Waking up the same time every night and seeing a series of numbers on the clock, hidden message or just your body in a routine?

There is meaning, messages and a truth to all of those to take to heart. Spring is arriving in many places and the wildlife is really awakening and moving. Having a bobcat cross in front of you on the road is exciting! Seeing signs of wildlife emerge from Winter hibernation is awakening. But, to dream and have a vision of a bear several nights in a row is there more to it? The Native meanings would say, "they were thought to be special and know all things, and so they were symbols of wisdom and medicine. Bears are also associated with the warrior spirit, prosperity. The Native Bear Symbol represents strength, family, vitality courage and health. ... The bear is also self-contained and strong-willed in nature. A Bear is of great support and comfort to those who crave human company simply for personal reassurance rather than for the simple pleasure of being with friends."

There is wildlife where ever you venture, even the city. There are birds, bugs, reptiles, and mammals. California or Alaska, there is wildlife. Some are more elusive than others, and some I prefer not to cross paths, like the rattlesnake. They rattler is not as frequent in the Pacific Northwest as it may be in California. But, the high deserts are home to the western rattle snake, so I prefer to make my hiking adventures in that direction Winter and very early Spring to avoid the forked tongue and eerie rattle warning sound. Wildlife exists in your own backyard and much of the critters like to only come out at night to scavenge around for dinner, avoiding human contact or pets. The skunks are more active this time of the year as they are starting to find a mate, as long as my dogs and outdoor cats do not cross the path.

When you are outdoors whether cruising to work or on a fun adventure, keep an eye out. Here in the Gorge, the Bald Eagle is up and down both sides of the river with many families nesting and can easily be spotted, along with many other fowl. You are blessed to capture a sight of a bear, bobcat or cougar and soon the bears will be out more on the clear cuts grazing and looking for mate or a quick date. Elk and deer are large part of the population and a lot easier to spot and enjoy viewing. So enjoy the vision, maybe my dreams of bears are just part of the excitement of Spring, waiting for them to emerge, but I also like the meaning of the message. So dream, because, "Dream interpretation is the process of assigning meaning to dreams. In many ancient societies, such as those of Egypt and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention, whose message could be interpreted by people with these associated spiritual powers." What is your super power?
