Hello Old Friend
Today I visited an old friend. Nothing like the feeling of the familiar place you have a deep love for in your heart and know so well to ground the negative energies and recharge the spirit. Many times I have packed different lenses, a tripod, a picnic lunch, a bottle of wine. today was a quick trek in just for a quick hello so you know I am still here.

"As I am strolling down the garden path, I saw a flower glowing in the dark. It looked so pretty and it was unique; I had to bend down just to have a peek.
Hello old friend, It's really good to see you once again. Hello old friend, It's really good to see you once again." Eric Clapton
Today was my day, not a mountain, no strenuous accomplishment, just a "walk in the woods" to a place dear in the heart. The first time we met, was over 35 years ago. Back in the day, you were a little hidden gem, a secret spot only a few knew about. I guess good things spread like wild fire and the secret has been out for years. Hit the trail by 8am to avoid the popularity. I remember when, I would come to visit on a warm sunny Summer Saturday and only cross paths with one or two, now.......its an early start and rarely on a weekend, because I like our visit and alone quiet time.

I have seen you ever season from the Autumn crisp colors, a Spring rainbow cast across your mist, a warm Summer day when you still dump 1000's of gallons a minute over your rocks and trekked in the deep snow to visit the icicles forming. Every time I marvel over your beauty that never will be exactly the same but always familiar.
"An old friend never can be found, and nature has provided that he cannot easily be lost."
Samuel Johnson

I packed my son on my back when he was 6 months old to meet you for the first time and now last year together we brought my 3 year old grand daughter to feel your energy. My furry friends love to travel up to meet you, Ebony was the first, then Rosie and Chewy, this cycle Bosco and Shasta and I am sure there will be more.
Until we meet again I promise to visit you often, after all I love having you so close its almost like my own backyard. Truly old friends are like home.
