Life is a Dance

Oh how the world some days feels like it is upside down! Growing up and common words were; respect, kindness, hard work, love thy neighbor. They were not just words but a way of life. Grade school mornings were routine with stand for the flag salute and we sang together a patriotic song , " This land is your land, America the Beautiful, the National Anthem" the list goes on. There will always be the person who is "mean", pushes, hits calls names. For the majority, people are good, kind and respectful. So how does the few that show ugliness win over the minds of many? While there may be a handful of "haters" those who can not accept others for whatever difference and reason. For the most part, I have not seen in my life time racist. Life is ever changing and we learn to accept new ideas and it can take a little time and education to see a newer idea can be acceptable or tolerated.

We are embarking on the 4th of July. On July 2, 1776, the Second Continental Congress, still meeting in Philadelphia, voted unanimously to declare the independence as the "United States of America". Two days later, on July 4, Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. On July 4, 1776, the 13 colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on the fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event. The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies defeated the British in the American Revolutionary War (1775–1783) with the assistance of France, winning independence from Great Britain and establishing the United States of America. This day gave us the citizens of the United States of America our rights to live a freer life and become our own country. This was the birth of our Nation.

The world is upside down right now, people are being disrespectful of our history and everything that represents the United States of America. But, the crowd is few and sadly they try to be loud to be heard. Why is there a small minority that wants more and not happy with all we have and try to make our world ugly? Maybe it is how unhappy they are with their own life they can't see the positive and want what others have without working for it? So we must dance right now. Dance around the ugliness and do not forget to see the beauty that does exist. Hold on to your good life you have worked hard to build.

Nature goes on about its way. The birds sing every morning, the sun still rises in the East and sets in the West and some days shows a beautiful sunset of colors with hope it will rise again in the morning. The trees are still standing tall, some days still and silent and others dancing in the wind. The wildlife and animals continue to go about their days, giving birth to new life, feeding the babies and surviving. We continue to go about our lives, working, mowing the lawn, making meals, playing. So do the dance, see the good, the beauty and keep it strong in your heart with a little faith. Celebrate the birth of our Nation, fly your flag outside your door, BBQ with family there will still be a few small parades and fireworks and dance around those who have hearts filled with hate and ugly. We will win, we will get past this we will find a way to be united and we are free. "Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light,What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming. Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming. And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave" Francis Scott Key
