Letting Go and Living On

When people leave this Earth and pass on, are they really gone? Or, is a part of them always with us?
Of course, they remain in our hearts through memories, but, there is more to our lives interaction than just a memory or the moment we are together.
" Everyone you meet and everyone you greet", Dr Suess. Everyone you cross paths wit shapes who we are and where you are going. The person you are today is because of the people you have interacted with, learned by, and shaped who you are today.
If you are a good listener and leaner, don't blame others for the things that have gone wrong! Thank them for the positive things they taught you.
Just losing my dad and letting go, I find peace in everything he has been in my life. Yes, he taught me how to ride a bike and a motorcycle. I learned, you will crash and fall in life. Don't ride with fear of crashing, get up, keep going and ride for the adventure.
He taught me how to snow ski. It is more than putting on your boots and going down a hill with your feet together. I learned life is about going forward with style and grace.
He taught me how to sail a small 8' boat in the big open waters. The world is a huge ocean that is larger than me. Focus on the horizon, look out ahead and I do prefer to keep my feet on the ground. But, enjoy the gentle wind and sun on your face.
I learned that life is about hard work, not being afraid to get my hands dirty, I can do it myself and being proud of my accomplishments. Lots of independence learned.
Every day and every where my dad went, when someone greeted him and asked, " how are you?". He always replied, "never better". Why can't everyone greet the day with a smile and positive strength?
So as I let go of my dad, its not good bye. I live through him every day.
"yesterday is gone, tomarrow is not here yet. Today is the best day of your life!" Rick Burns

RIP Dad, I will carry on and you live through me.
