Eagle Uplifted!

As we dive deep in to Autumn, the changing leaves are falling fast from the trees and soon the show of colors will be gone. The days grow shorter and in the Pacific NW, wetter! It can be difficult to find inspiration in our days when they are dark, grey and short. Then we add the craziness of the world and we all await for 2020 to come to an end quickly. Realizing how the heaviness of the world is weighing upon so many souls while in a routine physical the doctor now asks a list of questions concerning depression. Humans are not meant to be hibernating and withdrawn, we crave human contact and flourish with touch, exchange of smiles, kind greetings and HUGS!

How to keep energized in the soul? How to rejuvenate the spirit within? It is different in each one of us and I found my uplift; the eagles have returned to the Columbia River. The come back every Winter, and in the dark grey skies it is enlightening to see the white feathered head stand out and shine. The bald eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent.

The eagle represents "freedom". So, how appropriate to spend my Veteran's Day in the presence of eagles, and over 50 of them! We need the symbol of strength right now in our upside down country and The Founding Fathers made an appropriate choice when they selected the bald eagle as the emblem of the nation. The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America.

Sitting on the banks of the Columbia to observe and be in the company of our Nation's bird and symbol was uplifting to the soul! They say having an eagle in your presence gives meaning, " They bring a sense of courage and a desire to explore and grow. To dream of a flying eagle or one who is perched high signifies good fortune or victory coming your way. If it scares you or attacks you it means there are some self-imposed limitations you need to push through".

The Native American culture sees the eagle as sacred and the eagle symbol meaning in their culture is of strength, wisdom, and courage. An eagle is typically a messenger for the Native Americans to the creator. So I will take this messenger of strength and uplift my spirit to supercharge into the upscoming Winter, to the despair our Nation has been feeling and find not only strength but courage for days ahead.

It was so uplifting I needed to go back out a second day and observe them in majestic form. When we have a dry day, choose wisely how to spend. I suggest get outdoors, breathe the fresh air, find something in nature that inspires your soul and soak it in. If you can not, I hope the photos of my eagles help bring you strength and courage! ( I did only choose a few from the 300+ I took.

God Bless America and pray for our Nation!
