Off to the Races!

Off to the races to clear the mind and cleanse the soul. Well, not the races like you are thinking. Off to Indian Race Track trail in the wilderness. Up 3 miles to the track ( an old Indian horse race track), across a short cut trail to catch the PCT for a short trek and find yourself in the solitude of an open meadow of golden grass and no people. This is the type of race track I can enjoy and where you really can let go and nourish the soul.

The country is in an upside down place right now. Love, hate, fear; strong words that have brought out extremely strong opposition and guided emotions in Americans. We all have passion, " to have a strong belief of feeling that expresses behavior". Love and hate may seem an opposite in the contrary they can bring out the passion in people to act upon with an expression of saying its for the love of something that displays hate. Love is a deep passion or affection. Hate is intense passion and dislike for something or someone. People commit crimes of passion they say were out of love or hate. Seems recently many people express hate in one direction they profess for the love of something else. The Beatles said, "love is all we need". Is love enough? or too much?

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." —Albert Einstein

All this love and hate, fear and passion that has divided our Nation and people. So, off to the woods I go to lose my mind and find my soul. My passion, the wilderness. Where the sky smiled a rich deep blue, the trees tops danced in the breeze and sang a song. A place where silence is golden and can be even a little eerie. Exercise the body and enrich the mind to release the toxic energy of love and hate. Enjoy a deer behind the trees, a squirrel scurry across a log and birds rustling in the trees. Listen to the branches of an old snag rubbing against another tree with creeks and moans. Fall colors emerging with the crisp air temperatures and the warmth of the sunshine upon your face. Put your heart and soul back in place, go to the races if needed.

"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order." —John Burroughs
